As an accountant, your KPIs may include accuracy, relevance, timeliness and precision of records and reports. They should be tied to productivity gains, cost reduction or better decisions.

When you take on a new role, the first thing is to establish the state of affairs with respect to these KPIs. Then measure your performance over time with respect to that state of affairs. At the end, when you're in search of a new job, include the significant impacts you made as ACHIEVEMENTS. Your achievements are what sets you apart from every other accountant. They're proof of your SKILLS.
