Experienced Backend Developer (PHP)

EXPERIENCED BACKEND SERVICE DEVELOPER (PHP) NEEDED Maviance Cameroon PLC- the fastest payment aggregator in Cameroon with a work environment that promotes diversity, embraces change and provides leadership opportunities to every team member, is on a fast track within the application industry and seeking a highly-skilled backend developer (PHP) to take this vision even further.

Some of what you will do.

• Take part in the conception, implementation and testing steps of our server services and applications.

• Implement automated codebase quality assurances in our projects to support our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipeline.

• Support integration with commercial and central banks.

• Support the integration of partners and client integrations in new and existing Maviance applications.

• Maintain and extend existing services and applications.

• Share your development expertise in our team.

• Create code, tests and development documentation.

• May include occasional travel to Germany to work with the development team in Germany.

What we are looking for.

You should possess the following to be on a good footing:

•Interest in new web and mobile technologies as well as emerging markets and products

• You pay attention to details and eager to learn

• Interest to work in an environment using cutting edge technologies like CI/CD, cloud services, containers (docker)

• Provide references to projects/applications you have worked on that have been deployed in productive use by customers to demonstrate your skillset

Mandatory skills:

• A strong desire to execute new ideas especially in the field of web/mobile development

• Autonomous, Team-Work skills.

• Good mastery of the English language is mandatory for this position.

• Practical experience coding according to Test Driven Development — writing tests along with your code should be second nature.

• Multiple years of Object-Oriented PHP development experience (PHP 7+)

• Experience building PHP/MySQL based REST APIs and web applications, preferably using a framework like Symphony, Phalcon, Laravel, Zend or similar.

• Strong Object-Oriented Programming skills in general.

Nice to have skills:

• Experience working with standard versioning tools (like git).

• Experience working with Continuous Integration platforms (e.g. Jenkins) and containers (docker)

• Working knowledge of Linux shell scripting and Nginx/Apache Web Server.

• Knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, and Ajax — ideally ReactJS

• Knowledge of the Go Programming language is a plus.

• Experience working with the PHP testing framework.
