JOB POSITION

Title: Facility Nurse

Reports to: Chief Medical Officer

Place of Work: Yaounde - Nkozoa

Number of Positions: One (01)

 

DESCRIPTION

- Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Facility Nurse will have to provide, among other things, support patient care and treatment of patients at facility level through the provision of nursing and medical care as appropriate to ensure optimized care continuum for patients.

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

RECEPTION

- Be available, courteous and polite to patients/Clients

- Participate in the reception, installation of the sick (depending on the pathology) as well as their entourage

- Collection of important information for the care of patients

- Provide useful information to patients/clients and their entourage

- Installation of monitoring equipment

NURSING CARE

- Hygiene and comfort care for the patient

- Practice of routine care (parameters, perfusion, dressing, injection, Sampling, etc.)

- Monitoring of specific patient care and treatment

- Recognize an emergency and be able to react quickly and effectively

- Observe a change in the physical and behavioral state of a patient and alert

- Carry out the prescribed blood samples

- Ensure the maintenance of the equipment, the cleanliness of the room, etc

- Be able to handle the various service equipment and recognize malfunctions

- Prepare and transport the patient during special examinations

- Ensures continuity of care through written and oral communications

- Recording of data related to the activity of the service

- Analyze the quality of care and improve their professional practice

- Participating in the department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions, follow-up of expired drugs inventories, stock takes of medicines and material at every team changeover ensuring no material is taken out of nursing area/wards without prior authorization, etc.)

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

- Essential Nursing qualification or specialization. Desirable Bachelor in Nursing

- At least 2 years of (unbroken) experience in the position and BE ABLE TO WORK IN ALL SERVICES

- Sense of observation, sense of organization, teamwork

- Being able to keep your cool in the face of pressure

- Listening to his patients and knowing how to reassure

- Have a good capacity for concentration and good physical resistance

- Registered with necessary regulatory bodies

- Skills in MS Office suite and basic computer use

- Fluency in French and English

 

TYPE OF CONTRACT

- Permanent contract

- Three months of probation, with evaluation of the probation period

- Possibility of renewal of the probation period
