Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Innovation team lead or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer, an innovation ecosystem specialist, will have will mainly be responsible for the following tasks:

a.       Conduct landscape analysis to understand the innovation ecosystem dynamics in countries including how health innovations are being managed for scaling up

b.      Delineate the leverage points that can be capitalized on in designing the operational aspect of the innovation scaling platforms

c.       Perform stakeholder mapping and analysis of the value contribution of key stakeholders that can sustain the operations country innovation ecosystems

d.      Compile a synthetic report from the findings to inform strategic operations of the innovation ecosystems including monitoring and evaluation

e.       Support development of a workshop that will be intended to align key stakeholders on the co-ordination mechanisms

f.       Recommend the operational structure and key functions of the management committee to sustain coordination of local innovation ecosystems

g.       Provide recommendations for areas of additional research and development of guidelines for continued support and replication of innovation projects across various countries

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Educational additional comments

1.      Advanced training in Innovation management

2.      Degree in Health sciences, Information management, Engineering studies, Business administration and in other related field

Required experience

60 Months

Experience remark

1.      At least 5 years of proven experience in innovation management preferably in information systems including health

2.      Experience working with a UN agency or International organization will be an added advantage

Language skills

·         English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent

·         French(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge
