Ambassador of Brazil to the Republic of Cameroon informs that, in accordance with the provisions of Decree 1570 of July 21, 1995 and the decree of September 12, 1995 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, the selection process for the post of Housekeeper - Cook on behalf of the residence of the Ambassador according to the terms below:

Brief definition of the position - Housekeeper

The employee performs the functions of Housekeeper-Cook at the home of the Ambassador of Brazil in Cameroon on a full-time basis.

Skills and qualities required

  • Professional degree and experience of at least 2 years required.
 Governess
  • Ensure the comfort and well-being of premises and residents.
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the entire residence
  • Supervise all repair, organization and decoration work
With regard to the kitchen

Assisted by a cook's assistant; the employee will be responsible for:
  • The preparation and preparation of dishes and meals under the authority of the Ambassador, his guests and the staff, within the framework of the lunches, dinners, cocktails and buffets organized at the Residence of Brazil.
  • To apply the principles of food hygiene and the safety standards inherent in the kitchen trades.
  • To ensure the maintenance of the kitchen and its outbuildings (utensils, materials, equipment, premises).
  • The employee must be careful and demonstrate a certain aptitude for the arts of cooking.
Demonstrate: Availability - Loyalty and discretion - Care and desire for a job well done

Candidate profile

This function requires:
  • Culinary knowledge in general and more particularly Brazilian,
  • Mastery of food hygiene rules,
  • Knowledge of safety standards,
  • To know how to cope with a heavy workload and to be able to work in a team.
Special conditions of practice
  • Fluency in English and/or French essential; knowledge of Portuguese would be an asset.
  • Weekly working hours established in consultation with the Ambassador.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends
  • This position requires you to be in good physical condition.
Requirements
  • Proof of legal residency status;
  • Electoral map;
  • Legal authorization to carry out a remunerated activity in the country, for Brazilians or third-country nationals;
  • Oral and written knowledge of French, English or Portuguese;
  • If Brazilian, proof of conclusion of military service (for men) and electoral obligations;
  • At least two years of experience in a Housekeeper-Cook position;
  • Must be medically fit.
General Provisions

The working hours are 09h per day, from Monday to Friday and 5h on Saturday. The employee may be called upon on other occasions and therefore must show great flexibility.

The selection process will include two phases: First phase - interview with the Head of Administration / Second phase - interview with the Ambassador
