Humanitarian Project Protection Officer

Description of tasks :

Under the supervision of the Permanent Secretary, the person concerned will have to ensure the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the protection activities of the Caritas Maroua-Mokolo projects.
 
It will therefore be a question, and in close consultation with the supervisor named above, of:

Implementation of the Projects:
  • Organize the implementation and monitoring of the activities of the protection sector of the project
  • Participate in the planning, management, and development of the activities of the protection sector. Propose an action plan as well as work schedules, organize the implementation and present the list of actions to be carried out on a weekly basis.
  • Regularly monitor field activities and provide timely feedback 
  • Set up and/or revitalize community protection structures in the villages targeted by the project;
  • Strengthen the capacities (training and sensitization) of community protection structures, women's leaders, local authorities and leaders, teachers, health personnel, etc. in protection and human rights, prevention and responses to GBV and child protection;
  • Monitor cases of human rights violations and vulnerabilities in the target localities of the project in order to ensure identification, census, documentation, referencing and follow-up;
  • Contribute to the animation of the protection working group in Mokolo, Maroua and Mora;
  • Carry out or update with the support of other protection actors and specialists the mapping/mapping of actors and responses to GBV cases;
  • Write and send reports (weekly, monthly) of activities;
  • Guarantee the confidentiality of the information collected from the interlocutors;
  • Carry out any other task related to his qualifications at the request of the officials of Caritas Maroua-Mokolo.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:
  • Holder of a university level diploma (Bac+5) in law and/or social sciences;
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in the protection sector and in the field of humanitarian project management, identification, planning, implementation, monitoring, (participatory) evaluation;
  • Have a good knowledge of the Far North and its context.
  • Have the ability and willingness to carry out missions in the field and live in rural areas;
  • Be of good character;
  • Be able to take initiatives and work in a team;
  • Have a sense of organization, rigor, transparency and a good capacity for adaptation and innovation;
  • Be able to work according to the spirit of the Catholic Church (sobriety, sacrifice, humility, etc.)
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); - Good writing skills in French and fluent in Fulfulde.
COMPOSITION OF APPLICATION FILES:
The application file must include the following elements:
  • A letter of motivation addressed to the Permanent Secretary of Caritas of the diocese of Maroua-Mokolo;
  • A detailed curriculum vitae with the names and addresses of three referees;
  • A photocopy of the national identity card;
  • A photocopy of the birth certificate;
  • Copies of the highest significant diplomas obtained and other professional references;
  • Copies of practical references (work certificates, training certificates, etc.) - A letter of recommendation from a religious leader (Imam, Pastor, Priest).
Submission of applications by electronic means (e-mail) is accepted. Caritas Maroua-Mokolo reserves the right to verify the authenticity of the documents in the files. Incomplete files or files that do not meet the required qualifications will not be accepted. 
 
Only selected candidates will be invited to take the written and oral tests.

CONTRACT :

Place of work: Bishopric of the Diocese in Maroua 
 
Type of contract: Fixed-term employment contract of twelve (12) months with strong possibility of renewal.
 
Remuneration: to be negotiated.
