JOB ANNOUNCEMENT The Georgetown University Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) serves countries to improve their population health and wellbeing and to safeguard against health-related threats by advancing the use of evidence and human-centered enterprise architecture on the path towards achieving equity and social justice. To achieve this mission, we catalyze the uptake, spread, and implementation of innovations; triangulate data from different sources, and tailor visualization of the information for each audience; design and implement integrated service delivery models; support communities of practice to inform policy and practice through efficient data use and horizontal and vertical collaboration; disseminate best practices and evidence globally through open-source learning networks; build global, collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and interprofessional networks; undertake research that is informed by local needs; and invest in local leadership to own, provide oversight, and sustain implemented interventions. Georgetown University, through CGHPI, has recently received an award from U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) through funding from the U.S President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to support HIV response efforts in Cameroon for achievement of HIV epidemic control to implement a program titled Translating Data and Evidence into Impact (TIDE). As a result, CGHPI is recruiting for the following program implementation position. All prospective candidates must be fluent in French and working knowledge of English. These positions will be based in Yaoundé or Bertoua. CGHPI is operating in Cameroon as Georgetown Global Health LLC (GGHC). Position: Laboratory Information Management System Lead Reports to: Program Director Location of Work: Yaounde, Cameroon Number of positions: 1 Type of contract: Permanent Position Summary: The Laboratory Information Management System Lead will manage in the implementation and maintenance of a LIMS system. The position will create and maintain necessary procedures, assist in the configuration/customization of the system and provide training to staff members. This position requires flexibility with changing priorities. The Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Lead position is primarily responsible for supporting the LIMS system within the Quality Control Department. Approximately 50% of their time on user assistance, such as building and modifying tests, specs, sampling plans, templates and other user-managed information, performing new user training and other basic troubleshooting for users. The other 50% of the time will be spent on report design (Jasper) and improvement initiatives such as instrument interfaces and page configuration or functionality changes. The Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Lead is the liaison between QC and IT in areas related to system implementation and maintenance. Responsible for implementing and maintaining laboratory instrument interfaces with LIMS and implementing and maintaining statistical Quality Control software interface for charting and data analysis/trending purposes. Responsible for responding and resolving QC system users inquires and is the technical lead for QC process improvement projects. Responsible for reports generation and management of information stored in LIMS for statistical analysis, interpretation of data, and investigating causes. Essential Functions: • Support LIMS implementation and maintenance activities • Configure and customize LIMS using programming skills • Integrate instruments with LIMS • Conduct user-training sessions for LIMS users • Perform entry and edit of all relevant static data • Act as liaison between internal laboratory users and vendor to address various system issues • Evaluate product enhancements and capabilities, in addition to implementing upgrades as required • Interact with software vendor to resolve system issues Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelor Degree in any health science field or information technology or related discipline is preferred • 2-5 years’ experience preferred in a LIMS Administrator role for a Clinical or QC laboratory • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrated working understanding of laboratory operations and practices strong organizational and/or project management skills • Ability to contribute to multiple projects for different business stakeholders • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Instructions for Submitting Applications 1.
