Chemonics International, an international development consulting organization that has been operating since 1975 in more than 150 countries around the world, seeks experienced technical and operational leaders, technical specialists for USAID’s anticipated activity in Cameroon through the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI). This activity aims to advance the goals of PMI Cameroon and the Cameroon National Malaria Control Program (NMCP), which are to reduce deaths, reduce disease and reduce transmission to accelerate malaria elimination in Cameroon.

Chemonics is looking for a potential chief of party, several technical leads/specialists, and experienced operations and finance directors on malaria to help us achieve these goals. Experience in Cameroon is highly desired and proficiency in English is required for all positions. We are looking for people who have the passion to make a difference in the lives of people around the world.

We Are Seeking Technical Specialists In The Following Areas

• Malaria prevention, care, and treatment
• Community-level malaria vector control activities and interventions
• Malaria surveillance, monitoring, evaluation, and strategic information
• Social behavior change communication
• Capacity building of local partners and counterparts
• Refugee health and conflict-affected populations
• Private sector engagement
• Gender equality and social inclusion

Qualifications For Chief Of Party

• Advanced degree in public health, medicine, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible program management experience, preferably as chief of party or a similar role
• Experience leading complex international development programs is required; experience working with U.S. government and/or USAID implementing partners is preferred
• Experience in malaria program management in Cameroon and/or Central Africa is preferred
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with host-country officials, donors, and other key stakeholders
• Demonstrated supervisory work experience including supervision of technical teams and subcontractor partners
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Fluency in English and French required

Qualifications For Finance And Operations Director

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, project management, economic development, health, or related discipline required; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of five years of professional experience, with experience managing large-scale, complex contracts preferred
• Demonstrated experience managing international teams and supervising administrative, finance, and/or operations staff
• Thorough understanding of donor requirements and how to apply them to contract and project management, with preference for USAID experience
• Demonstrated skillset in financial management and operations procedures and policies, procurement, subcontracting, client relations, compliance, and human resources
• Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem solving and initiative to learn new skills
• Familiarity with Chemonics’ systems and processes preferred
• Fluency in English and French required

Qualifications For Technical Leads And Specialists

• Degree in Public Health, Medicine, or related field; higher degree preferred
• A minimum of five years (specialists) and a minimum of 10 years (leads) of relevant work experience in area of specified technical expertise; more experienced candidates are encouraged to apply
• Experience in managing malaria programs in Cameroon and/or Central Africa is desired
• Experience with USAID and/or other donors preferred
• Experience and understanding working with governments and government systems, the private sector, and international donors
• Demonstrated understanding of and experience working with program teams in challenging settings
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
