DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Through our online education services, we provide education and training to students from primary to tertiary levels of education based on Cameroon system of education. We also prepare students for end of year certificate examinations: First School Leaving Certificate, GCE Ordinary and Advanced levels.

 

Through our online school, Online tutors provide individual or group instruction in a virtual learning environment (VLE). VLEs typically provide the tutor with the ability to communicate with students verbally and visually, use a whiteboard, administer tests, post homework assignments, and share resources, such as course material or lecture notes, in a secure and controlled fashion.

There are many VLE applications available, some of which are free of charge. Online tutors may complete duties similar to the following:

• Answer student questions related to the course content
• Resolve technical or connectivity issues
• Reply to student messages
• Respond to messages from peers and school administrators
• Grade student assignments and tests
• Assess student progress
• Suggest program or curriculum improvements to school administrators
• Maintain required records

Online English Teachers organize and present lessons that refine the reading and communicating skills of students. They conduct classes online, as opposed to within traditional classrooms.

We are looking for committed Online Teachers to join our experienced team. As an Online Teacher, your responsibilities will include preparing lesson plans, presenting learning material, and tracking students' performance.

 

 

To be successful as an Online Teacher, you should be committed to facilitating learning in a safe and supportive environment. Top-notch candidates will demonstrate a reflexive approach to teaching.

 

Online Teacher Responsibilities:

·       Preparing and delivering lessons to improve students' reading, writing, and conversing skills.

·       Developing educational content such as notes and quizzes.

·       Assigning activities to facilitate students' consolidation of learning material.

·       Tailoring your teaching style in accordance with students' needs.

·       Managing interpersonal dynamics to ensure that the class is conducive to learning.

·       Tracking and reporting on students' progress.

·       Remaining up-to-date with our learning software.

·       Ensuring that your equipment is in good working condition at all times.

 

Online Teacher Requirements:

·       Professional certificate or Bachelor's degree in any subject of specialization.

·       Prior teaching experience in a  similar subject, preferably within a similar environment.

·       Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

·       Own laptop or desktop computer equipped with an HD webcam.

·       Fast and stable internet connection.

·       Excellent computer skills.

·       Organized and attentive to students' needs.

 

Requirements

·       Generally, online tutors must be experts on the subjects they teach. They commonly obtain this expertise through formal education and college degree programs.

·       Tutor training programs are also available, some of which are taught online. These programs generally cover such subjects as preparing online courses, teaching online, listening strategies, group dynamics, and cultural awareness. Some programs also teach business-building concepts for self-employed tutors.

·       Those interested in pursuing a career as an online tutor should complete postsecondary studies to demonstrate expert knowledge in the subject area they will assist students in. Tutor training programs are available, as is professional certification.
