Principal Hydropower & Dams Engineer - South Africa (Gauteng) 

A well-established international Engineering consultancy is currently looking for a Principal Hydropower & Dams Engineer to be based in South Africa (Gauteng), with work from home flexibility but reasonable travel between different branches (for engineering liaison) and to project sites will be required.

This candidate must self-motivated, output oriented professional principal dams engineer with a proven background who can help build a positive and sustainable future within a dynamic, quality driven working environment, focused on professionalism and technical excellence. 

The candidate will contribute to the design, technical oversight and project management of various projects. They will also play a pivotal role in the business development aspect of the Dams and Hydropower / Water Division and contribute to the division’s sustainable growth and reporting to the Dams and Hydropower manager.

Requirements:

• A PrEng with more than 16 years’ experience in dam engineering
• Relevant tertiary qualification from an accredited university
• Proven experience in the Dam Engineering sector covering dam design and analysis, international project involvement, dam safety inspections, etc.
• Must have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new business
• Be willing to travel (domestic and international).
• An advantage will be to have project management skills and APP registration.

Salary & Package:

Outstanding & competitive package: the gross salary on offer is paid in South African Rand and highly negotiable for the right candidate (reliant on experience & qualifications). The package includes pension contributions, life, accident and disability cover and medical insurance. Plus, there is an annual bonus and potential assistance in relocation. The company are open to all nationalities and will assist in a visa process.
