Responsibilities

The main duties in this position consist of the following;

Well surveillance/well construction/well intervention/workovers/field development.

The above would include;

• Stimulation candidate selection and execution.
• Candidate selection, design and execution of work over programmes.
• Recompletion, candidate selection and execution.
• Water shut-off techniques to reduce formation water production
• Utilization of production and reservoir logging for well surveillance.
• Implementation of ***line conductor technology to help candidate screening and selection.
• Development of innovative intervention/remedial methods using the ***line to reduce costs.
• Training of offshore staff in the utilization of the ***line.
• Candidate selection, design and execution of ESP installations
• Candidate selection, design and execution of PCP installations.
• Water flood evaluation, well injection study and remediation.
• Participation in field development studies and execution.
• Introduction of new technology and innovative techniques as appropriate (ESS etc)
• AFE justification, economics and risk evaluation
• Ensure all operations comply within the group’s HSE and TOE requirements.
• Technical production engineering support for the full *** cycle – exploration, appraisal, development, and production surveillance.
• Ensure asset continues to be developed in an integrated and optimal fashion, identifying opportunities for further field development.
• Identity relevant emerging technologies and their application, and uphold technical standards.
• Participate in operated and non-operated integrated studies and Peer Assist Reviews for well and reservoir management, responsible for the petroleum engineering work content and quality of studies.
• Share overall team responsibilities with other team members in the Technical Department.
• Mentor and coach Nationals in petroleum engineering techniques, well/reservoir optimization planning, and subsurface data management.
• Provide engineering and economics advice to Operations and *** management.
• Be a driver in the application/implementation of new technology and improved best practices.
• Represent *** in technical discussions and negotiations with Partners.
• Collaborate with partners on all field development and field improvement projects. Leverage synergies with other Cameroon ** operators on technical and business issues and review partner’s project proposals.

Dimensions   

*** is a US registered company with direct governance with The Hague. *** Cameroon operates the *** field and is a 50% partner in the ***-operated *** field. Offshore infrastructure is extensive that includes thirteen ***-type platforms

(115 wells) for the ***-operated fields and 42 platforms (300 wells)

– in the TFE-operated fields. Two storage tankers provide current export capacity but work is in progress to create synergy between operators to optimize oil storage costs. In addition, *** is evaluating new technologies and fiscal terms necessary to pursue the development of a number of marginal wells and fields. Strategy relies on operational excellence and cost control by utilizing Realize the Limit tools to create value.

Educational Requirements

• The incumbent is required to have, as a minimum, a B.Sc. degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering.

Experience Requirements

 8+ years of experience in production engineering, including involvement in the formulation, construction, and execution of field development plans and participation in field studies.

• He/she should be able to work in a very diverse multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment with new and different challenges.
• The successful candidate should be able to adapt to a unique but exciting culture in Douala and work well with National staff in order to accomplish tasks/projects in a timely manner.
• This position requires a self-starter and motivated individual who possess good communication skills, leadership abilities with a “can do” attitude. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of technology developments in the areas of subsurface data acquisition, production engineering and completions.
• Practical knowledge of down hole survey and survey equipment
• Good project management skills.
• Good presentational communication and written skills.
• Good integration skills, working as production engineer in the Engineering Department but with a considerable interface with Production Department.
• Creativity skills
• Strong business sense
• An ability to train and develop.
