The Purchasing Manager Indirect Spend has responsibility for the indirect spend portfolio of the production site located in Douala and other indirect spend in the country. He/She covers all technical and service spend (bare categories managed at Group level) such as MRO, Capex, Freight, Packaging, Chemicals, Facility Management, lab consumables / services / equipment, G&A related spend, and in general any spend beside the direct spend.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Develop sourcing strategies to ensure the most efficient procurement of all spend categories in scope at the best TCO;
• Manage a team of one Procurement Professional;
• Apply the relevant purchasing practices for the categories in scope (strategic, tactical, spot buy);
• Conduct negotiations and manage daily purchasing activities, both for local purchasing and supporting the import purchasing Department;
• Provide support - as primary contact – to the Import Purchasing Dpt (located in Europe), to ensure a smooth Rep to Pay process for imported Goods and Services;
• Ensure compliance with the Group purchasing processes;
• Act as a link between the Purchasing Team and the Global Purchasing Organization, understand global agreements and procedures and ensure their implementation;
• Generate reports on regular and ad-hoc basis;
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of all purchases and perform supplier performance review for audit matters;
• Manage performance and relationships with the suppliers, to ensure that the facilities have the right supplier base, delivering the right performance (service, quality, TCO);
• Support or lead issues resolution between suppliers and internal stakeholders;
• Create and manage ongoing action plans to reduce factory Purchasing costs.

About You

• Solid experience of minimum 7/10 years Purchasing Indirect Spend (preferably in industries);
• Proven effective Team Management;
• High interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• French and English written and spoken fluently;
• Knowledge in SAP and Maximo is a plus (Ms Office Suite is a must);
• Business Administration degree or Engineer degree in technical field is a plus;
• Leadership and management;
