RECRUITMENT OF 01 PROGRAMME ASSISTANT IN THE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT

Job title:
Programme Assistant in Operations Department
Under the supervision of the Head of Operations Department
Job Location Good Neighbors-Cameroon (Maroua Office)
Contract duration 12 months, renewable.

Good Neighbors Cameroon, an International non-governmental organisation working in humanitarian and community development based in Yaoundé, is launching a recruitment notice as part of the expansion of its activities in the Far North region of Cameroon.

Overview of the tasks :

Under the supervision of the Operations Officer, the assistant will work with other project assistants, staff and volunteers of the Organisation. The Programme Assistant shall:

• Assist in the research of potential project sites (Assist in drawing up plans, proposals and budgets for new projects/extensions of projects in conjunction with the relevant team/staff) ;
• Participate in the development of special projects, terms of reference for travel missions;
• Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual activity reports of the operations department;
• Participate in the planning, organisation of field work missions in the framework of operations;
• Participate in the follow-up and drafting of monthly activities initiated within the office and in the field;
• Participate in the organisation of training workshops and train local community volunteers in their tasks;
• Support the project team in their work, including: reporting, reminders of meetings and other tasks;
• Carry out other tasks as requested by the hierarchy;
• React sensitively to emergency situations and issues.

Profile and Qualifications required:

• Very good Report and proposal writing skills;
• Minimum 2 years experience in project management ;
• Have at least a Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Community ; Development, Anthropology, Environment or any other equivalent degree ;
• Have good organisational skills (Good interpersonal skills and abilities) ;
• have good teamwork and networking skills ;
• Fluency in Fufulde as well as in French and English will be an advantage ;
• Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) ;
• Be able to work under pressure, with clarity and good humour ;
• Be able to conceive, elaborate and write analysis and synthesis documents ;
• Be willing and available to travel to all Good Neighbors Cameroon project sites.

3. Constitution of the file:

Provide the following documents in French or English:

• Letter of motivation ;
• Curriculum Vitae with references attached;
• Copy of academic qualifications;
• Copy of work certificates;
• Copy of the National ID Card;
• Any other document proving experience in the field.
