JOB VACANCY Job Title: Research assistant Location: Douala Duration: Full time Closing Date: 25th June 2022 Expected start Date: 11th July 2022 ABOUT CLEAN AIR AFRICA CLEAN-Air (Africa) is a partnership between public health experts from the UK, Ghana,Kenya and Cameroon, aiming to provide policy-relevant evidence to address the global challenge of lack of access to clean household energy for the 4 billion people of the World’s population. RESEARCH ASSISTANT JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized clinical research assistant to join our growing research team. In this position, you will play a key role in monitoring clinical and community studies to ensure compliance with procedures and protocols. You will work under the supervision of principal investigator who leads the research projects. You are responsible for assisting him in a number of tasks that support the research activities. RESEARCH ASSISTANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Conduct literature reviews - Collect data - Prepare interview questions - Maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary - Prepare, maintain and update website materials - Summarize project results - Prepare other articles, reports and presentations - Travel to field sites to collect and record data and/or samples as appropriate to the specific objectives of the study - Conduct and record face-to-face and/or telephone interviews with subjects and Summarize interviews - Write and contribute to publications - Develop research protocols - Develop assessment and evaluation tools - Compile data for progress reports REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor or Master degree in Epidemiology or in Public Health Working experience - Knowledge of research methods. - Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position or data collection in a research project. - Experience in monitoring of biomedical and operational research is mandatory. - Prior experience in article writing and submitting in peer review journals will be highly appreciated. Languages - English and French are the working languages for the project. - Fluency in oral and written English is obligatory Additional skills - Self-directed and able to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues - Ability to multitask, prioritize, work under pressure, and manage time efficiently - Excellent teamwork and coordination skills. - Good computing skills, Excel, Word, PowerPoint ASSESSMENT: - Selection of qualified candidates will include an initial review of the CVs of applicants, followed by an interview of pre-selected candidates.
