Responsibilities

This position has primary responsibility for internal and external reserves determination and reporting for non-operated properties (NOV), which requires understanding and adherence to both SEC guidelines and Shell’s internal reserves related processes and procedures.  In this capacity it is required to utilize variety of methods for reserve determination, including decline analysis, volumetric analysis, and material balance.  Additional responsibilities consist of maturation of new resource related projects, which includes identification of opportunities, quantifying the potential volumes and their related costs, and seeking approval for the investments required to bring projects which meet screening and ranking criteria to fruition.

Detailed reservoir engineering analysis is required, including fluid property determination, volumetric analysis, performance predictions, and incorporation of numerical simulation of reservoir behaviour.  Additional responsibilities include reservoir surveillance, assessment of reservoir related production problems, water flood and pressure support surveillance, and general reservoir related support, including input to business planning function, and support for partner activities, such as Technical Committee Meetings.

• Accountable for NOV input to the business cycle including production forecasts, and timing of activities in accordance with *** team.
• Accountable for technical reservoir engineering support to the full *** cycle – exploration, appraisal, development, and production surveillance.
• Accountable for the reservoir engineering work content and quality of all NOV *** reservoir studies.
• Represent *** in NOV technical subsurface discussions and negotiations with Partners.
• Accountable for reservoir engineering aspects of all NOV field development and field improvement projects.
• This position reports directly to the Technical Manager, and interacts frequently with Geologists, Petrophysicists, Production Technologists, the Planning Engineer, and the Finance Department.
• In reserve related activities, some interaction is required with the Regional Resource Volume Coordinator in Nigeria and the Corporate Reserves organization in Rijswijk.

*** operates the *** field and is an equal share partner in the ***-operated *** field.  Subsurface accumulations are mature.  *** has moved away from using the Global Technical Partners in the Netherlands and now conducts the majority of the subsurface maturation in-house.

Educational Requirements

Requires Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Engineering or other engineering discipline, and significant reservoir engineering experience.

Experience Requirements

10 years in petroleum industry, with a minimum of 5 years in reservoir engineering. Experience in SEC reserves categorization and determination necessary.

• Technical knowledge and experience needed to perform these responsibilities include a general knowledge of geology, reservoir and production engineering, as well as facilities and drilling, and the inter-relation between the various aspects of these disciplines in a new project, in order to assimilate data from each into the final analysis.
• Self-starter motivated individual work can work independently and communicate well with other subsurface staff.

Able to work in a very diverse multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment.

Additional Requirements
