Entry Level - Software Developer

Job Brief: 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Entry Level Software Developer to join our experienced software development team. You will assist with all functions of software design and coding. Your primary focus will be to learn the codebase, gather user feedback, and assist senior developers. As an Entry Level Software Developer, you should have a good working knowledge of basic programming languages, the ability to learn new technology quickly, and the ability to work in a team environment. Ultimately, a top-class Junior Software Developer provides valuable support to the software development team while continually improving their coding and design skills.

 

Responsibilities

As an Entry Level Software Developer, you will:

• Work in an Agile work environment, assisting the senior developer with all aspects of software design and coding

• Gathering information and feedback from end users about program functionality

• test and support our platform (and future applications) for our highly valued customers.

•  Build and manage testing environments, assisting in debugging application issues and working on minor bug fixes

• Writing reports, writing and maintaining code.

• Conducting development tests

• Monitoring the technical performance of internal systems.

• Problem solving, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.

• Basic knowledge and experience in developing real world applications.

• Attending and contributing to company business and development meetings.

• Continuous learning of the codebase and improving on coding skills. 

Required Technical and Professional Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. 

• Knowledge of basic coding languages including , HTML5, JavaScript, Java and Spock .

• Basic programming experience and working knowledge of frameworks and platforms like Angular and Bootstrap (frontend), MongoDB (Database), Jira and Bitbucket (Agile/Source Control) and AWS (CI/CD).

• Knowledge of databases and operating systems.

• Good working knowledge of email systems and Microsoft Office software.

• Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.

• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.

• Detail-oriented.

• Highly disciplined, can work independently and are a fast learner.

• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Language.
