JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

 

Role Title: Technical Sales Representative

Role Type: Sales

Location: Buea, but extends to other towns like Limbe, Douala, and Yaoundé

Duration: Indefinite

Role Purpose: Sell chemical products and technical equipment such as industrial chemicals, agricultural chemicals, water treatment supplies, and laboratory equipment to corporate clients. Provide effective support for sales operations in line with customer service standards, corporate and finance standards, to the satisfaction of GPS and clients.

Group Pioneer Sarl is a multi-service establishment with the primary objective to encourage research, industrial and technological development. We have been engaged in academic and research supplies for over 20 years, and we are moving into industrial supplies. We are a private limited company with headquarters in Buea and Branches in Bamenda and Yaoundé. Our partners include specialized and world-renowned manufacturers and suppliers like Feedback Instruments, Leybold Didactic, Sigma-Aldrich, Merck, Wirsam Scientific, etc. Through our many years of experience, we have built the capacity to handle supplies of laboratories/workshops in schools of sciences, engineering, agriculture, veterinary medicine, biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, research institutions, and new industries. Working with our standby reference manufacturers, we can source/produce equipment to the customer's exact specifications.

Main Duties:

· Search for new clients who might benefit from company/partner products

· Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements

· Make technical presentations that demonstrate how a product meets client needs in terms of composition, quality, price and delivery (product education)

· Negotiate contract or sales terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs

· Administer client accounts: Take orders, calculate client quotations, distribute products to customers and collect payments

· Provide after-sales support services (technical customer service and product training)

· Keep customer records, analyze costs and sales and prepare reports

· Meet regular sales targets and coordinate sales projects

· Communicate with persons outside the organization: Representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.

 

Role Requirements

Knowledge:

Sales and Marketing: Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.

Chemistry: Understanding of chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, production techniques, disposal methods and danger signs.

Physics: Understanding of basic experiments in mechanics, electricity, magnetism, and thermodynamics, and their associated equipment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Quality Control, Pharmaceutical sciences, or Laboratory Sciences. Master’s degree preferred.

Language: Fluent in both English and French

· Inspecting Equipment, Material: Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
