Biostatistics is the application of statistical concepts and principles to medical, biological and public health data;

It is the backbone of any health entity that today tries to aim for growth;

The African continent is subject to many health problems such as malaria, cholera, tuberculosis, HIV-AIDS and the lack of seasoned biostatisticians to respond analytically and factually to public health and clinical trial problems;

It is important to build the capacities of health and health safety professionals, and to better orient scientific students to the profession of biostatistics in order to make our illustrious continent a competitive pole for biostatistics professions;

This training will enable learners to make decisions based not on prejudice, but on evidence. It will give them a set of methodological instruments in statistics, epidemiology and computer tools.
 

Training aims

 

  • Provide learners with solid theoretical knowledge in biostatistics (experimental protocol, statistical model, statistical tests, etc.);
  • Equip learners to master statistical software such as Epi Info, SPSS, CsPro, R and PVALUE.IO;
  • Train learners to conduct a study in public health and in fact, to publish scientific articles in major journals
